“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” Genesis 1:27 ESV
God made you in His image. That means that everything God is, you are too. He is very creative. Look at all the different flowers, trees and birds and other things He made. Because we are created in His image, He has qualities that He has given us.
Since He created you, He is the only one who can define you. He has created you for a specific purpose so to know who we are and what He has for us to do we will ask Him to show us. He made us so He holds the answers for our lives. With each letter of your name, we will write out who God says you are.
Let’s picture ourselves as God sees us.
Parents, feel free to use the A to Z guide of who God says you are to help your child write out a personalized affirmation statement. Take the suggestions below and search the dictionary for words for each letter in your child’s name. Pray and ask God to show you scriptures speaking particularly to God’s plan for your child and to show who He can created them to be Him and then speak this over them on a consistent basis as affirmations for them to know who God says they are. You might even want to commission an artist to make a graphic of their name spelled out to hang in their rooms as a constant reminder for them of who they are.
