Hi there! I see you! You’re a mom full of love wanting a God lead, God inspired life for you and your children. You see motherhood as your ministry but time to serve this mission to the level you would prefer is scarce between serving as a chauffeur, chaperone, meal and event planner, money manager while nursing babies, doctoring boo boos, cheerleading milestones, childproofing, championing accomplishments, educating littles on manners, sharing and caring not to mention cleaning the home, doing laundry, bedtime wrestling and showering hugs and kisses while being a wife, sister, cousin, friend, coworker, church member or community leader.
Despite the commodity of time inherent to mom life, you can have the fruitful life God has planted in you and you can nurture those same seeds of fruitfulness in your children in their early years.
I’m Alicia and I am so grateful you stopped by to check out this site! The greatest joy in my life comes packaged in two about 3 foot high packages of light, laughter and love who call me mommy.
I love my mom life but it is hard work! Two years into trying everything to find the balance other’s speak about, I nearly broke as the weight of it all just fell on me like a ton of bricks.
I felt overwhelmed from a full busy day but empty because it felt like nothing of substance had been accomplished. Sure, the to-do-list had been checked off and the house was clean.. well somewhat, I mean no one was gonna break their neck in the middle of the night but something less tangible felt unfinished.
As I worked to convince myself to accept this as my current reality and hold onto a glimmer of hope that it will change in the next season, God interrupted with, “abide in me”. Then… the epiphany… abide in Him to have the fruitful fulfilled life of faith I desired.
Here is the thing though… when God gets started with you, I learned, He doesn’t stop so soon He impressed upon me to start purposing to teach my children to walk out a life of faith in their preschool years but time to go deeper in the word while introducing them to God was a double duty my life in this season proved difficult. Then God interrupted (see a pattern!) to let me know it is possible for Him to speak to both of us from the same scripture at the same time. Now my children speak His truths in their preschool age earlier than I thought would be possible while God impresses deeper meanings to his scriptures upon me!
Fruit contains within what is needed for it to reproduce. So for us to be fruitful we too must contain within us what we need to plant somewhere to reproduce. This is the purpose of Seeds of Motherhood.
For moms, weekly devotionals offer quiet moments with God. A nurture the seeds section follows each passage. Nurturing allows for time to think on the words in the passage offering a life application portion. A thought to sow the seeds follows with other scriptures from the word related to the topic.
Note: All scriptures are the English Standard Version unless otherwise indicated.
For kids, the same scripture or passage will be used to introduce them to a new bible lesson and show them how to apply it to their lives. There will a craft, or object lesson for children to hear or see the word in other ways.
I pray you and your children are blessed as we endeavor to live intentionally by abiding in Him through His inspired word sowing seeds of a faith filled fruitful life.
If you have not already, join our Facebook group to become part of the community of sowers to encourage one another and share your journey. We are also on Instagram and would love to have to follow along to more inspiration.
Happy sowing,
Alicia!
