God's plans
What God is showing us here is we have all we need in Him. In the span of time between day 3 and day 4, however long it might have been, He sustained the vegetation. Likewise, God wants us to know that He will sustain us too in the waiting, the wondering, and the wandering. He wants us to learn to rely on Him and not look to the tangible to sustain us. Hebrews 10:23 says. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.
He wants our hope to rest in Him; otherwise, we build our faith on things and not on Him. The tangible does not last and does not hold the power to change our destinies. Those tangible things like our money, our health, our position, our property even our perceived power may leave us but our God will not.
Kids story:
God made the whole world and everyone in it. He created the heavens too. He did this because he had a plan for everything. How does God use the sun? The sun helps keep us warm and help plants grow. How does He use the moon? The moon helps give use light at night and help the oceans move. God made us too and He has a plan for each of us. He has a special part that only we can do the way He wants because God made you special.
Simon says or rather God says
We talked about how God has a plan for each of us. When we follow His plan, He get the reward. Let’s practice what that might look like. Mom hold five pieces of a treat in your hand and play simon says. Each time they mess up, take on piece away. Stop before they lose all of their treats and show them what they have left compared to what they could have had. Explain to them that when we follow God’s direction, we get rewarded. Sometimes, we mess up though just like in the fame and we miss out n some of the reward God has for us. Show them what the other treats they could have had if they made no mistakes. Then explain to them that because we serve a forgiving and restoring God so when we apologize to Him, ask for forgiveness and for His help to do better later on He will give us some or all of what we missed out on before. Sometimes He will even give us better. At that point, give them one or two pieces they didn’t get the first time.
