On day 2 God made...

On day 2 God made...

God made the sky on the second day.  He separate the waters on the top from the ones on the bottom. Today we will make a sky of our own.  We will use the number two color page or you can get paper to make the sky with crayons or pain.  You can also skip the paint and use blue paper as the sky.  Use cotton balls to make clouds.

Here’s a little rhyme to help our littles remember….

The sky He created on day two a perfect picture full of light blue

Activity 1: Paint the sky picture.

Get blue construction paper and use cotton balls or white paint to make clouds.

God did it with just a few words.

Remember that God said let there be light.  He only said a few words and did great things.  That tells us that God can do a lot with a little. Those kindness letters we wrote will do so much for those people that received them. Every time they look at those letters they will smile so it goes beyond just today or tomorrow. It will help them next week and next year. That’s how God works.  The small things can make a big difference.

Activity 2: This week we will do a science project and see an example of how this works.  With the volcano experiment, we see a little bit of baking soda causing a large reaction, a big spread.  The same way God can take what little we have to give to Him and spread it much further than we would think possible.

  The Volcano experiment.

·       1/2 cup water

·       1/4 cup vinegar

·       1/4 cup dish detergent

·       Red or orange food coloring

·       2 tablespoons baking soda

·       Tissue

1.       Build your volcano. In the center, use a container to hold liquid. Depending on how big you are making your volcano, this can be an old water bottle, soda bottle with the top cut off, or even a simple glass jar.

2.       Add ingredients to your container. This includes water, vinegar, dish detergent and food coloring. Do not add your baking soda at this stage.

3.       Add the baking soda when you are ready for an eruption. Wrap the baking soda in a tissue and drop into the volcano. The baking soda will react with the vinegar and cause the eruption.
