Listen

“Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, ‘you shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?” Gen 3:1

This week we will talk about the first sin. Sin happens when we disobey God. God told Adam and Eve not the eat the fruit. The serpent or snake started questioning God. This is the beginning of what led them to sin. When God says something, it is final and is not be questioned. Sometimes we don’t understand why God says the things he does but we have to trust him that whatever He says it is what is best for us. God has rules just we have rules at home and school. We might not like them but they are best for everyone.

Let’s play a game to help illustrate this:

Red light, green light

Parent:

Explain the game to them and then begin

1. stand on one side of the room and turn with your back facing the children

2. say green light and then turn back quickly saying red light

3. The children should go on green and stop on red

4. Continue this until one child reaches you and tags you

Once the game is complete, ask if that was fun. Then ask would it have been as much fun if there no rules. Without rules, it would have been us running around with no goal and no winner. When we follow God’s rules, we have a clear way to finish well and win!

Until next time,

happy sowing!
