Trust God no matter what
God made the whole world and everyone in it. He created the heavens too. He did this because he had a plan for everything. How does God use the sun? Well for one thing it helps keep us warm and helps plants grow. How does He use the moon? The moon helps light the night sky and helps the oceans move. God made us too and He has a plan for each of us. He has a special part that only we can do the way He wants because God made each of us special. He made you, me, everyone special.
Red light, green light
We talked last week about listening for God carefully so we know what we should do. Let’s practice this by playing red light, green light but we are going to lay it a little different. Mom turn off the lights and put in front of them a bean bag or pile of pillows which then cover or close their eyes. Play the game until they get right up to the pillows on the green light portion of the game. Turn on the lights and let them see the pillows they would have crashed into. Explain to them that we must listen carefully because we never know when God is going to tell us to stop or to go. Whatever He says we should do it because He has a plan for us, a plan to keep us from falling. Let them know that sometimes when we mess up God will cushion our falls but sometimes our falls are a little harder, so we lose privileges and get punished. We all mess up though even mommy does sometimes, but the great news is God is always willing to help us get up and get going again!
